Empress Livia's Garden Fresco Painting by Will Wieber

  This study for a large mural is a detail of Empress Livia's Garden Room at her Villa at Prima Porta, north of Rome.  Livia's room was decorated on all four internal walls with naturalistic garden scenes showing pomegranate tress, yellow bird, ferns.  The room can now be seen in the museum at Palazzo Massimo in Rome.Roman art is not just the art of the emperors, senators, and aristocracy, but of all the peoples of Rome's vast empire, including middle-class businessmen, freedmen, slaves, and soldiers in Italy and the provinces.

Bohemian Glass Art

The mastery of the Czech glass makers is most evident in this moody and mysterious infusion of a secret molten metal within the glass.  Thus creating an electrifying burst of color emanating from within.  This bohemian chameleon is valued with high regard.
